What does SOS Tyre offer businesses with a fleet?

SOS Tyre offers businesses two complementary services, neither of which requires the vehicles to go to a garage:

ServiceWhenWhere
Tyre changes and seasonal changeoversBy appointmentCompany premises, car park or depot
Tyre assistance for drivers24/7, 7 days a weekWherever the vehicle is: on the road, at a client's, in a car park

SOS Tyre already has a number of active partnerships with businesses and company fleets. Arrangements are agreed case by case, based on the number of vehicles and the company's needs.

How does a tyre change at company premises work?

A tyre change at your company works like this: we come to the company car park or depot and change the vehicles' tyres on site, including the seasonal changeover between summer and winter tyres. The cars stay where they are, and employees don't lose hours taking them to a garage.

To organise the job, we agree together:

  1. which vehicles to include, with model, number plate and tyre sizes;
  2. where the tyres to be fitted are: you can supply them yourself, or we can discuss it on the phone based on size and availability;
  3. day and time, for example when the cars are parked at the premises;
  4. how to access the site and the keys, and who the on-site contact is.

Why does vehicle downtime cost more for people who work on the road?

For a taxi, a private hire car (NCC) or a company vehicle, every hour off the road is an hour of work lost, as well as an inconvenience for customers. Taking the car to a garage often means losing a shift or a booked fare.

In the event of a puncture, we come to wherever the vehicle is: we assess the damage, carry out an on-the-spot repair where possible or a wheel change, and the vehicle is back in service in no time.

Who is the service for?

The service is for anyone who uses vehicles for work in Milan and its province:

  • businesses with company cars or commercial vans;
  • taxi drivers and taxi cooperatives;
  • NCC (noleggio con conducente, Italian private hire with driver);
  • car sharing and rental operators;
  • fleets of electric and hybrid cars.

How should a fleet organise its assistance requests?

The best way to organise emergency requests depends on how your fleet is structured: that's why we invite you to contact us on +39 377 326 0999 to work it out together. In general, it's useful to establish in advance:

  1. who calls: the driver directly or a fleet contact;
  2. who authorises the job, if different from the person on the spot;
  3. what details to send for each vehicle: number plate, model, tyre size, whether it has a spare wheel or run-flats;
  4. who to report the outcome of the job to.

Having this information ready makes every request quicker to handle.

What should the driver do in the event of a puncture?

The driver must think first about their own safety and that of their passengers, and only then about the tyre:

  1. pull over somewhere safe and switch on the hazard lights;
  2. have passengers get out on the side away from the traffic and move them away from the carriageway;
  3. put on the high-visibility vest where required and place the warning triangle;
  4. call +39 377 326 0999 or send the location on WhatsApp.

A detailed procedure to share with drivers is in the guide on how to stay safe after a puncture; for company or rental cars, see also puncture in a rental or company car.

Which fleet vehicles need more attention?

Some fleet vehicles have features worth mentioning straight away, both for emergency assistance and for scheduled tyre changes:

  • electric and hybrid cars: often without a spare wheel and with specific tyres;
  • vehicles with run-flat tyres: see punctured run-flat;
  • vans: commercial-use tyres with a load index suited to the vehicle;
  • people carriers and SUVs used for NCC: larger, heavier wheels.

We cover Milan, the surrounding area and the neighbouring provinces, including company car parks, depots and garages: see the areas we cover.

Frequently asked questions

Can a taxi driver call SOS Tyre directly?

Yes. The driver can call +39 377 326 0999 or message on WhatsApp, giving their location, vehicle model and the problem. If the fleet has a contact who must authorise jobs, it's useful to define this step beforehand by getting in touch with us to organise requests.

How do I set up a partnership for my company fleet?

Contact SOS Tyre on +39 377 326 0999 and describe your fleet: number and type of vehicles, location, tyre change needs and emergency assistance requirements. SOS Tyre already works with a number of businesses, and arrangements are agreed case by case with the company's contact person.

Can the seasonal changeover for company cars be done without taking them to a garage?

Yes. SOS Tyre carries out tyre changes and the switch between summer and winter tyres directly in the company car park or depot, by appointment. The cars stay on site and employees don't have to drive them to a garage. Day, time and site access are agreed in advance.

What should I do with passengers on board during a puncture?

Pull over somewhere safe, switch on your hazard lights and have them get out on the side away from the traffic, moving them away from the carriageway. On the ring road they must stay behind the crash barrier. Then call for assistance: for the journey itself, agree an alternative with them or with your dispatch centre.

Is it worth keeping a record of the fleet's tyre sizes?

Yes, it's useful. Knowing in advance the size, load index and speed rating of each vehicle's tyres, as well as whether it has a spare wheel or run-flats, lets you prepare both for emergency assistance and for scheduled tyre changes, and cuts the time needed to handle each request.
