Which neighbourhoods of Municipio 4 do we cover?
We cover the whole of Municipio 4, the south-east quarter of Milan. The main areas are:
- Porta Vittoria and Porta Romana, just outside the Bastioni.
- Calvairate and Molise, around viale Molise and the Ortomercato wholesale market.
- Forlanini, Taliedo and Mecenate, along viale Forlanini and via Mecenate.
- Corvetto, around the piazzale of the same name.
- Rogoredo and Santa Giulia, towards the city's south-eastern boundary.
- Ponte Lambro and Monluè, beyond the Tangenziale Est.
What are the main roads?
Municipio 4 is crossed by major multi-lane radial roads, where it's important to tell us your direction of travel.
- Corso XXII Marzo and viale Forlanini: the road heading east, partly followed by the blue M4 line.
- Viale Corsica: links corso XXII Marzo with the Forlanini and Mecenate area.
- Corso Lodi: the road heading south-east, followed by the yellow M3 line (Lodi, Brenta, Corvetto, Porto di Mare, Rogoredo).
- Viale Ungheria and via Mecenate: link roads towards Ponte Lambro and the industrial area.
On these avenues always tell us whether you're on the main carriageway, the service road or a reserved lane.
Have you had a puncture at Piazzale Corvetto or near Rogoredo station?
Piazzale Corvetto is a large roundabout: if you stop there, tell us which street you came in from and which one you're heading out on. If you can, leave the roundabout at walking pace and stop in the first side street.
Rogoredo station is a hub for trains and the M3 metro, with car parks and forecourts all around. Tell us:
- which side of the station you're on;
- the name of the car park, the level and the space, if you're in a car park building;
- a visible landmark (station entrance, bus stop).
The new Santa Giulia neighbourhood also has recently built streets that some maps may not show accurately: share your GPS location.
What should you do if you stop on the ring road or near the motorway?
If you stop on the Tangenziale Est or near the junctions for the Autostrada del Sole (A1), put safety first. Municipio 4 borders these arterial roads, which are very busy at all hours.
- Pull over onto the hard shoulder or into a lay-by, with your hazard lights on.
- Put on your high-visibility vest before getting out, get out on the crash-barrier side and stay behind the barrier; never cross the carriageway.
- Place the warning triangle only if you can do so without risk.
- Call us on +39 377 326 0999 with your direction, the last junction and the kilometre marker. If you're in danger, call 112.
If you're still on a city street, before the slip road, say so: it changes everything for the call-out. See also how to stay safe after a puncture.
Are you in a van around the Ortomercato or in a logistics area?
In the commercial and logistics areas of Municipio 4, give us the exact entrance and tell us whether authorisation is needed to get in. Lots of commercial vehicles move around the Ortomercato and the industrial areas towards Mecenate and Ponte Lambro.
- Tell us the gate or entrance number and the name of the company or warehouse.
- Tell us the type of vehicle and, if possible, the tyre size.
- If you're loaded, let us know: it helps us assess the job.
You'll find specific information on the page about tyre assistance for vans.
How does SOS Tyre work in Municipio 4?
We come out 24/7 to wherever the vehicle is: on the street, in car parks, in courtyards and in garages. We assess the damage and, where technically possible, repair the tyre on the spot; otherwise we fit the spare wheel or space-saver with our wheel change service.
Replacement with a new tyre needs to be checked on the phone depending on size and availability. Call +39 377 326 0999: we set off as soon as you call, tell you straight away when we'll arrive and get you back on the road in next to no time.
Frequently asked questions
I've stopped on the Piazzale Corvetto roundabout: what do I do?
Switch on your hazard lights. If the car can still move, leave the roundabout at walking pace and stop in the first side street, without driving any distance on the flat tyre. Then call SOS Tyre on +39 377 326 0999, giving the street where you've stopped and the house number.
Do you come out to the car parks at Rogoredo station?
Yes, SOS Tyre also operates in the car parks around Rogoredo station, as long as there's room to work safely. Tell us which side of the station you're on, the name of the car park, the level and the space. In covered car parks GPS may not work.
My van has a puncture near the Ortomercato: can you come?
Yes, we also work on vans and commercial vehicles. Give us the exact entrance or gate, whether authorisation is needed to enter the area, the vehicle model and, if possible, the tyre size read from the sidewall. A photo of the tyre on WhatsApp helps.
I'm in Santa Giulia and the satnav can't find the street: how do I guide you?
In recently built neighbourhoods such as Santa Giulia some streets may be shown inaccurately on maps. Share your GPS location on WhatsApp at +39 377 326 0999 and add a visible landmark, such as a recognisable building or a stop.
Do you also cover Ponte Lambro, beyond the ring road?
Yes, Ponte Lambro is part of Municipio 4 and of the Comune di Milano, so we cover it like the rest of the city, as well as the towns beyond the boundary, from San Donato Milanese onwards. Give us the street and house number; if you're near the Tangenziale Est junctions, tell us whether you're on a city street or on the ring road.
