Which neighbourhoods of Municipio 3 do we cover?
We cover the whole of Municipio 3, Milan's eastern sector between Porta Venezia and the city boundary beyond Lambrate. The main areas are:
- Porta Venezia and Buenos Aires, with corso Buenos Aires and the streets of the Lazzaretto.
- Città Studi, the neighbourhood of universities and research institutes.
- Casoretto, between Piazzale Loreto and Lambrate.
- Lambrate, with its railway station and former industrial areas.
- Ortica and Rubattino, east of the railway, towards Parco Lambro and the Tangenziale Est.
Which streets and landmarks can you use?
The most useful roads to mention are corso Buenos Aires, viale Abruzzi, viale Lombardia, via Porpora and viale Romagna. Together with a house number or a junction, they let us find you quickly.
| Landmark | Where it is |
|---|---|
| Piazzale Loreto | Hub linking corso Buenos Aires, viale Monza, via Padova and viale Abruzzi |
| Politecnico di Milano | Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, Città Studi |
| Università Statale (Città Studi campuses) | Around via Celoria and via Golgi |
| Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Istituto Besta | Around via Venezian and via Celoria |
| Lambrate station | Railway hub and M2 stop |
| Parco Lambro | Towards the eastern boundary, near the ring road |
The green M2 line (Loreto, Piola, Lambrate) and the stops on the blue M4 line are excellent reference points for telling us the area.
Are you on corso Buenos Aires or in Porta Venezia?
On corso Buenos Aires and the surrounding streets, give us the house number and the side of the road, because it's a very busy shopping street with heavy traffic, deliveries loading and unloading, and parking that's often difficult.
- If you can, move at walking pace into a quieter side street and tell us which one.
- If you're in an underground car park in the area, give us the level and the space.
- Towards the Bastioni avenues (viale Piave, viale Majno) you're on the edge of the centre: if you've entered Area C, let us know.
How do we find you in Città Studi, among universities and hospitals?
In Città Studi, give us the name of the institute or the entrance, because many buildings have several entrances on different streets. Hospitals and universities take up entire blocks, and "I'm at the Politecnico" or "I'm at the cancer institute" can mean places quite far apart.
- Tell us the street of the entrance nearest to you.
- If you're in an organisation's internal car park, check that access is allowed and tell us how to get in.
- If you work in the area and the car is in a company garage, our mobile tyre fitter can work there too, if there's room.
What should you do towards Lambrate, Rubattino and the Tangenziale Est?
Between Lambrate, Ortica and Rubattino, tell us whether you're on a city street or already on the Tangenziale Est slip road: these are very different situations in terms of safety and access.
- On the ring road, stop on the hard shoulder or in a lay-by, with your hazard lights on.
- Put on your high-visibility vest, get out on the crash-barrier side and stay behind the barrier.
- Tell us your direction and the last junction you passed; if you're in danger, call 112.
Around Rubattino and Parco Lambro some stretches are poorly lit at night: read the tips from our night-time tyre service in Milan.
How does SOS Tyre work in Municipio 3?
We get quickly to wherever the vehicle is, 24/7: we set off as soon as you call, assess the damage and, where technically possible, repair the tyre on the spot. If not, we fit the spare wheel or space-saver; replacement with a new tyre needs to be checked on the phone depending on size and availability.
If you've found a nail in your tyre, don't pull it out: send us a photo on WhatsApp at +39 377 326 0999.
Frequently asked questions
Do you come out near the Politecnico in Piazza Leonardo da Vinci?
Yes, SOS Tyre operates throughout Città Studi, including the area around the Politecnico. Tell us the street of the nearest entrance or the house number where you parked, because the university buildings have several entrances. You can also share your GPS location on WhatsApp at +39 377 326 0999.
I have a flat tyre on corso Buenos Aires: where should I stop?
If the car can still move, go at walking pace into the first quiet side street, without driving any distance on the flat tyre. Switch on your hazard lights and call us, giving the side street and house number. That way we can work away from the heavy traffic on the corso.
Do you also cover Ortica and Rubattino, beyond the Lambrate railway?
Yes, we cover the whole of Municipio 3, including Ortica and Rubattino east of the railway. Since the area is crossed by tracks and flyovers, tell us precisely the street and which side of the railway you're on, or share your GPS location.
I'm in a residential garage in Casoretto: can you come out?
Yes, we also work in residential garages if there's room to work safely. Give us the address of the vehicle entrance, the level, the garage number and how to get in. Please also mention the height of the ramp, if it's shown at the entrance.
